A Little Video on Compressing a Rim

After making a couple hundred smaller jars and 50 or so of these larger preserve jars with a thickened rim, I'm finally feeling like I am getting the shape down. I like the thickened rim better than a rim that was just folded over.





Below, is a video of me compressing the rim, and the photos at right show one of the 1 3/4-pound preserve jars that I'm making right now. The video is shot in high definition, which is available at the YouTube version of the film.
